Today I’ve spent some time working with my good friend Rick Coste (modernaudiodrama.com) on budgeting. It’s such an important part of the process and DAMN seeing it on paper is scary. I mean, I DID write in A LOT of characters, but it was vital to the script. I just didn’t realize just how much this was going to cost. I’ll do what I can with my own means, but I’m hoping that I can raise enough to at least cover the voice actors and post. I don’t mind paying for the hosting. In fact, I actually do have some money set aside for just that purpose. The budget is also helpful since I plan on trying to fundraise for this; in order to help show what these funds are going towards, it’s IMPERATIVE I have this info ready to go. Luckily, Rick is incredibly helpful and is willing to mentor me.
Money is never an easy topic to talk about. In fact, part of me doesn’t really want to post this blog because I don’t want it to sound like I’m begging for money in THIS post. That’s totally not the case! When the crowdfunding is up, don’t worry, I’ll post about it haha! But really, the reason I started this blog is to document my progress, and this is part of it. A HUGE part of it. As awkward as it is to talk about. In fact, probably one of the most important parts aside from the script. There are a lot of people out there trying to do the same thing I am, and I want those who invest in the success of “CHRIS” to trust in what I’m doing. By posting that I’m pretty much a production n00b, I do run a risk. However, I just hope that it comes off as I intend: to show that I’m passionate and ready to work my ass off making this dream of mine come true.
Also, it’s ALL part of the journey.
